As part of the YWCA NYC’s racial and gender equity work, the YWCA NYC Girls Initiatives hosted a Virtual Inauguration Panel on January 20, 2021 at 4 p.m. This intergenerational event connected Girls Initiatives participants and women leaders in New York City. Distinguished guests included moderator Jolisa Beavers, CEO of 4Ward Inclusion, Inc. and panelists: The Honorable Letitia James, New York State Attorney General; Yueh-Ru Chu, Chief, Affirmative Litigation Environmental Protection Bureau of the New York State Office of the Attorney General; Nicole Smith Futrell, Associate Professor CUNY School of Law; and The Honorable Vanessa Gibson, Council Member of the New York, District 16.
Our panelists discussed, unpacked and reflected on current events, and critically explored the significance of the Joesph R. Biden and Kamala Harris Administration. All BIWOC and YWCA NYC community members were welcome!
