The YWCA-NYC Girls Initiatives STEAAM On program will bring together science, technology, engineering, arts, and activism with social justice and leadership development to increase STEM-learning among self-identified femme-youth, grades 9th – 12th. Over the course of ten days, participants will attend seminars, workshops, field trips, and work on a STEAAM-related research project using hands-on approaches and the latest technology. STEAAM On creates a vital STEM education pathway for femme-identified students, and scholars in communities of color, to address the loss of critical science and math instruction during the Covid19 pandemic. Daily STEAM activities will increase STEM exposure and prepare students for success in the upcoming school year and beyond.
